Are All Gold Medals Equal

All the multi Olympic medal winners are swimmers and that’s not fair. Look at Michael Phelps 8 in one set of games, Mark Spitz 7 and Ian Thorp 5. Track and field athletes don’t stand a chance if you are a hammer thrower what else can you compete in maybe at a push the shot put, but that is without doubt the only one. Runners don’t have it much easier, a sprinter can possible bag 5 if he or she is lucky, because 2 of them will rely on their teammates pulling their weight in the relays and 1 will mean a switch from running to running with a long jump at the end. No I am afraid whereas swimmers have the opportunity to win 8 medals maybe more in one games, someone like Usain Bolt can probable count on the 100 and 200 meters and the relays in both distances. Poor old pole-vaulters and javelin throwers have got just one chance.
So in my mind and I know I am absolutely right in this, its time to even things up a bit, level the playing field so to speak. My solution is astonishingly simple and I am really surprised his royal highness Lord Sebby hasn’t thought of it before, particularly as he struggled so much to win a medal and only managed to pick up the crumbs Steve Ovett left him. All we have to do is create a few more events, for example for Usain Bolt we could introduce the 50, 75 and 150 meters sprints for a pole-vaulters we can introduce different length poles which would effect the height they could vault and each pole length would be a separate event, for example the 5 and 7.5 meter pole pole-vault. So it could go on so that everyone has an equal chance of winning the same number of medals.
Hang on I have just noticed that gymnasts and in the main female ones have also notched up a lot of medals at individual games. But lets not worry about that to much, gymnastics is just a bunch of small child like people running around jumping and falling over in an indoor play area. Some even get by waving a long ribbon around. No the only people interested in that sort of thing is the parents of the kids taking part and pedophile's.
