60's MYTH EXPLODED

In the late 60's after girls had been wearing mini skirts for quiet a few years, it was felt that their legs had got fatter. Sounds crazy but there was a reasonable explanation to back this statement up. You see people thought that as women, up until the 60's had kept their legs for 99 per cent of the time under wraps, their legs had not got used to being exposed to the elements. As a result they were kept in a reasonably warm environment.

Okay, so what does all this clap trap mean, well if the legs are protected from the cold and everything mother nature can throw at them, there is no need for them to develop a layer of fat in order to protect the inner workings of the said legs, from the weather. But when the mini skirt was invented and girls started to expose more and more leg to the weather, they naturally put on layers of fat in order to protect them from the cold.

This theory became so popular that beef farmer started to take an interest in it. They decided to shave the legs of their cattle to see if they also put on fat to protect their legs from the weather. Of course more fat meant more weight which meant more money for the farmers at market.

Now in New Zealand the girls seem very keen on wearing mini skirts. I have absolutely no idea if they are at the cutting end of fashion, or stuck in a time warp and have not moved on yet. I suspect the later. New Zealand is also not know for its exotic weather conditions, this after all is the land of the long white cloud and with that cloud comes a lot of cold, rainy and windy weather conditions.

It is also obvious as you walk around that the women of New Zealand are not in general, tall, elegant, slim specimens. No they are altogether a more rugged version, as befitting the rugged country in which they live. Their legs are the sort that would carry you up hill and down dale all day long, probably with a sheep over the shoulder.EndFragment

Now I am just keeping my eyes open for a field full of sheep with just their legs shaved.EndFragment
